Chaparral 2D Daytona

Chaparral 2D made by solido ref. 153 and modified by me to represent the 1966 Daytona 24hrs car (see Chaparral 2D Daytona from a Chaparral 2D LM for more details). Changes included the removal of the periscope air inlet, open rear cowling, different rear back facia and side inlet openings plus installation of a "Flipper wing".

•Chevy-V8cyl 5436cc dohc 420hp at 6800rpm CR=11:1 4-DT carbs and tuned exhaust 2 speed automatic gearbox 274km/h 2 built wheelbase=91”
•This version was introduced and its only run at the Daytona 24 hrs. The 5356cc aluminum alloy block engine was later enlarged to about 5900cc.

Chaparral 2D Sebring

Chaparral 2D made by solido ref. 153 and modified by me to represent the 1966 Sebring 12hrs car (see Chaparral 2D Sebring from a Chaparral 2D LM for more details). Changes included the removal of the periscope air inlet, different side inlet openings and 4 side windows intead of 2.

•s/n: 2D-002; note that chassis 2D-002 was only raced once, at Sebring before being transformed into a Chaparral 2F to be raced during the 1967 season
•1966 Sebring 12hrs #11 Gr.: P+2.0 Team: Chaparral Cars Inc. with Jim Hall and Hap Sharp did not finished (rear suspension) 35 laps (Winner=228 laps)
•Chevy-V8cyl 5436cc dohc 420hp at 6800rpm PR=11:1 4DT carbs and tuned exhaust 2 automatic speed gearbox 274km/h 720kg 2built wheelbase=91”
•This version was first introduced at the Daytona 24 hrs. The 5356cc aluminum alloy block engine was enlarged to about 5900cc.

Chaparral 2E s/n: 001

Chaparral 2E kit made by ESDO models with Ref.: 42 and assembled by me. An additional improvement was made by opening passages (small holes) on the front fenders.
